We are fortunate at Capstone to be an Employee Ownership Trust – the only one in the foster care sector.
This means we’re not owned by private individuals, and therefore focus resources on our foster carers, children, young people and team. This is through PACE training for all our foster carers, DDP for the team, wellbeing services, education support, support with birth children, improved carer allowances, and now the introduction of BERRI (the market leading clinically designed measure to evidence a child’s progress and monitor outcomes).
At Capstone we believe that support, support and even more support is essential to thrive as a foster carer. As well as all the above you’ll have a Supervising Social Worker with low caseloads who has the time to dedicate to your fostering family and will always be on hand with a listening ear. Your circle of support will also include Children’s Champions, local meet ups and support groups.
Our MATTS (Multi-disciplinary Assessment Treatment and Therapy Service) is our one-of-a-kind, trauma-focused service providing:
All foster carers have the opportunity to attend monthly clinical support groups and one-to-one clinics.
It’s basically an in-house CAMHS but without the waiting lists, which works with both young people and foster carers directly, to empower children to heal, develop and thrive.
Through the Capstone Care Leavers Trust, our charitable arm, we award grants to care experienced young people who are up to age 25 and in need, helping them with:
We’ve supported many young people to achieve their dreams, whether through funding Master’s degrees, providing laptops for studies or those essential items to make a house a home.
Our commitment is to the bright futures of young people. Care doesn’t end at 18.
